Get started with your Discovery Flight Lesson in Rome, NY

During your Discovery Flight lesson, which lasts up to 1-Hour, you will have the chance to pilot a plane over New York with the assistance of one of our trained and FAA Certificated Flight Instructors. The trial lesson introduces you to the basics of aviation in the greater Oneida County area and helps you discover the skills required to become a pilot.

What's Included?

Pre-Flight Briefing

A 1-Hour ground lesson and pre-flight briefing at the Griffiss International Airport, given by an aviation expert to give you a basic overview of the aircraft, control functions, and safety measures used before you head towards the clouds of New York.

Flying Time

A 1-Hour flight in our aircraft over the Utica / Rome area to help you discover the nuances of flying an aircraft like climbs, turns, descents, and straight and level flight so that you get an understanding of aspects from takeoff to landing. This is where you get your first taste of what it is like to be a pilot.

Post-Flight Debriefing

A short review session at the end to discuss what you learned from your first flying lesson.
