Can I Bring a Friend?

Yes! As long as the weight and balance for the airplane allows, you can have someone ride along in the back seat at no extra charge. If both of you want a turn at the controls, you would purchase two intro flights.

Where & When:

Raleigh Flying Club is based at Signature Flight Support at RDU, 1775 E. International Dr., Morrisville. Please arrive about 10 minutes before your scheduled time to park and make your way inside. Our offices are upstairs in suite 208 and 210.

Parking is in front of Signature in a gated lot; you will need to get a ticket on the way in and pay with a credit card to exit.

Rescheduling:

We conduct intro flights on nice days for the best experience! If the clouds are too low or the wind is too high, we will reschedule.

Airplanes regularly come offline for maintenance based on flight hours and calendar limits. This will affect reservations occasionally. We'll substitute airplanes if available, but we may need to reschedule.

If you need to reschedule for any reason, please call or email with as much notice as possible. Don't fly if you are not feeling well.

What To Bring:

Dress for the outdoors, as we'll be spending some time outside the airplane to do preflight training. The airplanes have heat, but no air conditioning. Bring proof of US citizenship if you'd like to receive a logbook of your flight lesson - it counts toward your training! Don't forget to take a photo or two while airborne.

What To Expect:

After you meet your instructor and sign the Intro Flight Agreement, we'll go over the basics of how airplanes fly. After a few minutes instruction on the wings and how the controls work, we'll walk out to the airplane and conduct a preflight inspection.

Then we'll climb aboard - you in the pilot's seat, and your instructor in the right seat. The instructor will start the engine and obtain clearance from ATC, then you'll taxi to the runway and go flying! You can take the controls soon after takeoff.

The flight will proceed out from RDU on an assigned heading, and when clear of the airspace you'll get to practice turns, climbs, descents, and level flight. An hour goes by very quickly, and you'll return to RDU. Don't worry - the instructor will handle the radios and the landing!

Cancellation, Refund, Expiration Policy

Contact us if you need to cancel your reservation for a refund of 50% of the purchase price. Reservation must be completed within one year from the date of purchase, after which you forfeit your reservation.
