How does it work?
Purchase: You purchase the gift certificate right here.
Receive certificate: You will receive a printable gift certificate by email. We can also mail a physical gift certificate for a small fee upon request.
Make someone's day: Give them the gift that will really stand out.
Decide: The recipient can choose if they want a scenic air tour or an introductory lesson ("discovery flight"). Up to three people can be on the flight (within weight limits)
Schedule: The recipient can use our online scheduling system to schedule their flight any day we are open. There are no blackout dates. Certificate is good for 12 calendar months after the date of purchase. If the recipient chooses a lesson, they will be provided with optional free study materials in case they want to get even more out of the experience.
Confirm: We will confirm weather and aircraft status the day before the scheduled flight and reschedule if it's not a good day to fly.
FLY!
- For a scenic flight:
- We will have a safety briefing, ensure everyone is comfortable and familiar with the headset, and then get up in the air.
- In a 40 minute flight we can head west and explore deeper into the local mountains, seeing landmarks such as Chimney Rock, Roman Nose, or the burn areas from recent fires. Or head east and get great views of Moyie, the Kootenai, and Katka.
- Plan on about 90 minutes for the whole experience.
- For a lesson:
- We will spend about 30 minutes learning the basics of helicopter control and covering required safety topics from SFAR 73 to allow the recipient to manipulate the controls of the helicopter.
- With 40 minutes of flight, the recipient may get through the "Four Fundamentals" of flying the helicopter in cruise flight and get to apply those skills to realistic flying scenarios. They will also get spend some time working on each of the three aspects of hovering a helicopter.
- Plan on about two hours for the whole experience.
Photos:
- The recipient and any other passengers are welcome and encouraged to take photos any time before, during, and after the flight.
- Any observers who come along but are staying on the ground will be able to watch the helicopter depart and arrive from a safe distance.
