Private Pilot Ground School 01/19/26

The next Laconia Flight Academy (LFA) hybrid Private Pilot Ground School course will start on January 19th, 2026.

Course Details

• 10 Week Course
• Meets every Monday and Wednesday, from 6-8pm
• Location: Laconia Airport Terminal Conference Room
• Hybrid class – In Person and via Microsoft Teams
• Cost is $649 non-refundable; to be paid prior to start of first class

Redbird 10 Hour Block Time

Enjoy 10 hours of time in our Redbird FMX simulator. Instructor time is not included. 

Mountain Flight Training Workshop 01/17/2026

Laconia Flight Academy will be conducting a mountain flight training workshop on Saturday morning, January 17^th, 2026.

The 3-hour workshop will run from 9am until Noon and will be hosted at the Laconia Airport terminal.

We will also be live-streaming the workshop for those who want to attend remotely.

Mark Donovan and retired USAF Colonel Bill Moran, with over 50 years of flying experience, will be teaching the course.

Key topics Discussed will include:

• Mountain Weather
• Flight Planning
• Aircraft Performance
• Human Factors
• Navigation and Terrain Awareness
• Performance Maneuvers
• Techniques for Crossing Ridgelines
• Landing and Take-off Techniques
• Emergency Procedures
• Go-no-Go judgement

The cost of the workshop is $25. Also, if interested you can opt-in for a lunch and chat session immediately following the seminar, for an additional $15.
