Mini-Course Details:

4 Session Course: Starts Monday, May 4th, 2026 (6:00pm to 8:30pm), with three additional classes that follow on May 5th, May 11th and May 13th at the same time (6:00pm to 8:30pm)
Location: Laconia Airport, 65a Aviation Drive, Gilford, NH 03249
Cost is $189 non-refundable; to be paid prior to start of the mini-course.

    • Precision/Non-Precision Approaches - ILS/LOC, GPS/RNAV, VOR; Radar Approaches (PAR/SRA)
    • Lost Communication Procedures, Emergency Operations
    • IFR Flight Planning
    • Weight & Balance
    • Selecting IFR route of Flight
    • Filing an IFR Flight Plan
    • Picking up an IFR Clearance and getting Released
    • Closing out an IFR flight plan
    • ALL USING FOREFLIGHT

Fly our Full Motion Redbird Simulator (Optional)
As an additional option for the mini-course, attendees can sign up during the mini-course to fly with one of our 
CFI-Is at a later date on our in-house Redbird full motion simulator. They’ll fly an IFR flight plan that they prepared 
during the workshop. The reduced rate flat cost is $169. The Redbird session runs approximately 1.5 hours.

We are excited to announce that Laconia Flight Academy will be conducting an IFR Flight Training Ground School Mini-Course at our facilities at Laconia Airport, starting May 4th, 2026. 


This mini-course is ideal for both the IFR flight student who is already well into pursuing their Instrument rating,
and for the rusty IFR pilot who needs a refresher in instrument flying.
